Somebody once shared an observation with me that “men can never just meet up for a chat, it’s always; you, me, and a third thing like football, cinema, or the pub…”.

In 2017, I made that ‘third thing’ whisky when my incredible friend Fred (picture - left) organised our first tour of Islay, where I infamously asked the distiller at Coal Ila “so is whisky basically just wood flavoured alcohol?”.

Since those naive roots, I’ve continued to passionately explore the wonderful world of whisky, and built up experience managing:

• multi-day group trip tours of distilleries

• curated tasting events with pairings of whisky and chocolate

• hosted a whisky podcast series

• events including an open whisky bar at Elvaston Castle, with guest speaker Max Vaughan - founder of White Peak Distillery.

I am writing this on the day that I founded Whisky Events, 14th January 2025. I am on a mission to spread the joy that getting together with wonderful people to share a dram of whisky has brought me over the years. I strongly, deep-down believe that together you and I can create some special memories for others through passionately curated and tailored whisky experiences.
